Best Fungicides & Spray Dosages for Tomato Early Blight & Late Blight
Published by ICAR Horticulture Research Team • Category: Vegetable Pathology • 6 min read
Tomato cultivation across major growing hubs like Kolar (Karnataka) and Madanapalle (Andhra Pradesh) suffers recurring damage from two major fungal diseases: Early Blight (Alternaria solani) and Late Blight (Phytophthora infestans). Timely diagnostic detection and correct fungicide selection are crucial for preserving fruit quality and preventing yield loss.
1. Diagnostic Differences
- Early Blight (Alternaria solani): Concentric target ring spots (bullseye pattern) on lower older leaves with yellow halos.
- Late Blight (Phytophthora infestans): Irregular dark water-soaked lesions expanding rapidly during cool rainy weather with white mold growth on leaf undersides.
2. ICAR Approved Fungicide Spray Dosages
🧪 Certified Chemical Spray Options (per Liter of Water):
- Bayer Nativo (Tebuconazole 50% + Trifloxystrobin 25% WG): 0.75 grams per Liter of water. PHI: 7 Days.

- Copper Oxychloride 50% WP (Blitox): 3.0 grams per Liter of water. PHI: 10 Days.
3. Cultural & Organic Management
